Connecting with a church can be an intimidating journey. We would like to make it easy for you by creating pathways for you to experience and join our church family. We have several options for connecting and we welcome you to take advantage of them to see if Wellspring is the church for you.
Welcome to Wellspring Church! We invite you to learn about the various opportunities to connect within Wellspring so that you may experience life in the spring. According to John 4:13, 14, real life is only found in the spring, Jesus Christ. This life is most fulfilling when lived out in a Christ-like community. We hope that this pathway will allow you to connect with Jesus, our ultimate means to genuine satisfaction, as well as the people within this community.

Thanks for sharing some information about yourself with us. We'll review it and get back to you quickly with some suggestions for how you can engage in community. Thanks for wanting to GET CONNECTED!
One of the best ways to get connected at Wellspring is to join a group. Groups are where you can learn, apply, grow, and make lasting friendships around the Gospel. Groups consist of 8-12 people and meet weekly in someone's home. Groups last from 6 to 13 weeks. Childcare is usually creatively worked out by the group leader with the group members.
Wellspring currently has three sequential core groups: Gospel-Centered Life, The Basics, and Missional Living. Our desire is that each person at Wellspring complete these groups in succession as they build on Gospel-centered concepts. You can sign up for groups at the Life in the Spring table (information table) on Sunday.
Step 1- Gospel-Centered Life (GCL): This ongoing group is the entry point to group life at Wellspring. This 9-week group explores what the Gospel is, what the Gospel does in us, and what the Gospel does through us. The group is open to new believers, Christ followers, skeptics, burnt-out church goers, etc. All are welcome to come and grow! GCL will challenge and encourage you that the Gospel is not only a one time event that saves us. Rather a Gospel-Centered outlook processes, views, and applies all of life in light of what Jesus has done for us. In short the Gospel is not a hurdle in the race of life, the Gospel is the race. During winter 2011 we are offering 3 GCL groups that will start Monday January 17th, Tuesday February 1st, and Wednesday February 16th at various locations in south Charlotte.
Step 2 - The Basics: This group is the next step after GCL and explores the basics truths and questions of the Christian faith. In order to live out the Gospel in everyday life one must understand what the core truths, beliefs, and doctrine of the faith. Over 13 weeks, this group will explore and wrestle with questions like: What is the Trinity?, How did we get the Bible?, How did God create? Who is Jesus? What is sin? What is salvation and redemption? What is my responsibility to God? Why is the resurrection important? In short this group will challenge you to learn, wrestle with, and apply the basic truths of the faith. This group is open to all who have completed a GCL group. During winter 2011 we are offering 2 Basics groups starting January 19th. One group will meet in the morning and the other in the evening.
Step 3 - Missional Living: The last of the core groups is the Missional Living group. In this group you will live, learn, and serve with your group striving to live a Gospel-centered and Gospel-informed life. This is where knowledge meets wisdom, where there rubber hits the road, where you get some "skin in the game". This group will challenge you with practical assignments to love on mission in your neighborhood, community, church, and workplace. This group is open to all who have completed GCL and The Basics. Groups will be forming in the summer 2011.
In the future Wellspring will create groups that center around studying a bible book, stage of life, and/or recovery experiences. But for the immediate future Wellspring group life will focus on these three core groups.
"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For as we share abundantly in Christ's sufferings, so through Christ we share abundantly in comfort too." 2 Corinthians 1:3-5

Wellspring Church desires that all men love Jesus, lead their homes, and impact their communities for the gospel. No matter where a man is in his gospel journey, all men need to grow, serve, and connect. The strength and consistency of Christ-like servant leadership sets the tone of our church. Our men gather regularly to grow in the gospel, serve the church, and have fun.
Wellspring has four gatherings to disciple, teach, and serve men so that they can grow in the gospel:compl
Locker Room is our regular gathering (usually once a month) where men study the Word, pray, eat some food, and laugh. Our desire in this gathering is to connect to the Word, get to know each other, and challenge each other to live out the gospel. This gathering is usually held from 10-11:30 a.m. the second Saturday of each month at a man’s home. All men are invited.
Activity: All men love a little competition and exercise. The men get together regularly for flag football, basketball, ultimate frisbee, golf, hiking, etc. to have fun, sweat a lot, and compete. The goal is to have fun and get to know each other. All men and teenage boys are invited.
Serve: With Christ as the example, men are encouraged to grow in the gospel by serving. Whether it is serving on a setup team or volunteering in the children’s/teen ministry, the desire is for men to lead and serve the women and children of Wellspring. Additionally, the men serve the community through mentoring programs and other helping opportunities.
Get-aways: Once or twice a year our men get away for a time of refreshing in the Word, connection with creation, and fellowship with one another. This year we are planning a retreat for the weekend of July 9-10. Mark your calendars. Details to come soon. All men are invited to attend.
In Student Ministries, our main goal is that our teens will find true and ultimate satisfaction in Jesus. That’s what we’re about. We don’t want to just to keep our students busy, or turn them into well-behaving religious people who simply know all the right answers to the Christian questions. At the end of the day, when people ask what this ministry is all about, we want to be able to tell them that we help our students to love Jesus more.
So how do we do that? First, we want to teach the Bible. Obviously, we want to talk about topics like friendship, dating, peer pressure, etc.; however, we want all of it to be rooted in scripture. Therefore, everything we teach will be Bible-centered. Honestly, most students find the bible incredibly boring, so one of our goals is to go through scripture together and see how it’s relevant and applies to everyday life.
Second, we want to hang out. Having a community where there are shared common values is huge. We want our ministry to be a safe place, not in the sense that students are never challenged, but in the sense that they are safe to be themselves and to hang out with friends. Also, as a community we want to serve together doing various service projects and learn what it means to be Christ-like servants.
Finally, we see parents as vitally important to our student ministry. Our view is that we partner with parents, not the other way around. We never want to “take over” and be the primary teachers of our students. We firmly believe that most of the teaching occurs in the home, and we want to do our best to support parents and help them any way that we can.
